Lake Forest School Districts 67 & 115
Dr. Matthew L. Montgomery has been the Superintendent of Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 and Lake Forest Community High School District 115 since July 2021, serving the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood, Illinois. In this role, he oversees educational programs, finance, facilities, and personnel, ensuring alignment with board policies and priorities.
An advocate for continuous learning, Dr. Montgomery is actively engaged in national and regional professional associations. He serves as the Regional Program Representative for the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is a member of the College Board’s Superintendent Advisory Council. He also serves as Co-Chair of the School Superintendents Association (AASA) STEM Leadership Consortium. In addition, he contributes to the National Superintendents Roundtable, the Mid-American Association of School Superintendents, and the Superintendent Collaborative, and serves on the Superintendent Advisory Board of JASON Learning. Dr. Montgomery frequently presents at conferences on education transformation, superintendent–school board relations, and leadership during turbulent times.
Dr. Montgomery holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration, a Master of Education in Educational Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Education, all from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
