Melissa Benner brings over 12 years of public education experience and currently serves as Coordinator for Innovation & Technology at Peninsula School District. She leads district-wide efforts supporting educational technology, robotics, drone programming, and cyber-awareness initiatives. Melissa directs the emerging PSD Drone Performance Team, integrating drone piloting, coding, animation, and industry certifications to provide students with real‑world, future-aligned experiences. She also collaborates with district staff to embed robotics, makerspace tools, STEM curriculum, and digital citizenship into our systems programming—creating inclusive, inquiry-based learning hubs that foster critical thinking and innovation
Her overarching mission centers on equitable access to future-forward learning. Melissa’s leadership unifies edtech strategy—from supporting classroom integration of Chromebooks and digital platforms to guiding cyber-awareness training, robotics clubs, and STEM outreach—ensuring students across Peninsula have the opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving, technology fluency, and authentic career exploration.
