As digital tools reshape K–12 classrooms, the debate around student screentime grows more urgent. For Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), this issue goes beyond devices—it’s about strategy, communication, and leadership. This session explores the CTO’s critical role in navigating the complexities of screentime with teachers, parents, and school boards. We’ll examine current research, the balance between educational value and screen fatigue, and how to align tech policies with student wellness and academic goals. Participants will gain insight into fostering constructive dialogue, addressing equity and access, and creating guidelines that support responsible, impactful tech use.
