Ben serves as the Director for Educational Technology at Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, where he leads initiatives in IT, Online Learning and Professional Development. He has been with the IU for ten years, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the role.
Before joining the Intermediate Unit, Ben spent 27 years at Red Lion Area High School in Pennsylvania as a Physics Teacher. There, he taught AP Physics and Engineering and also served as the Science Department Chair. In 2005, he was named a Keystone Technology Integrator and later returned to the statewide summit as an instructor on four occasions.
With over 25 years of experience as an educational technology consultant, Ben has collaborated with schools, organizations, and companies around the globe. He has served as a presenter and advisor for institutions such as the Singapore Ministry of Education, NASA, HP, the NBA, NSTA, the Vietnam and USVI Ministries of Education, and Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory.
Ben spent four years on the ISTE Board of Directors and received the prestigious Making IT Happen! Award in 2011. He has presented on topics including technology integration, science education, STEM, and 21st-century learning at major conferences such as ISTE, SITE, NCTET, NSTA, and PETE&C.
Most recently, he contributed to the ISTE Standards for Students as a member of the Technical Work Group. Ben also coauthors a monthly column for The Science Teacher, published by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA).
