Dr. Emily Dillard is the Chief Information Officer for Alexandria City Public Schools, where she leads the Technology Services department and drives innovation in instructional technology and artificial intelligence. Over her decade in the district, she has guided schools in leveraging technology to enhance teaching, support educators, and create meaningful learning experiences for students. She works at the intersection of systems, leadership, and innovation, turning emerging tools into practical solutions that strengthen schools.
Dr. Dillard is a Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) and a past participant in the CoSN CTO Academy. She serves on the CoSN AI Committee, was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, and is an adjunct professor at George Washington University.
She is especially interested in how school systems can adopt new technologies in ways that help educators focus on what matters most while prioritizing safety and preserving the human connections at the heart of learning.
