Director of Technology
Beavercreek City Schools
Beavercreek, Ohio
I started my educational career in the early 90s as a middle school math teacher and after six years changed to a relatively new field - educational technology. Graduating with the first class from the University of Dayton in 1993 with a Master of Technology in Education degree, I jumped at the chance to help other educators utilize technology in their classrooms. I have sometimes thrived and other times survived through the years as we have changed major focuses from implementing networks, to adding enough computers that all students could use them, to adopting interactive projection devices, to wifi networks, to one-to-one initiatives, to cloud based everything, and now to data privacy and cybersecurity. I have learned how important it is to build and foster teams both on the technical side and the administrative side that are trusted throughout the organization.
