Director of Educational Technology
Wellesley Public Schools
Wellesley, Massachusetts
Adam Steiner, PhD, serves as the Director of Educational Technology for the Wellesley Public Schools in Massachusetts. With a career rooted in the belief that technology should be a bridge to equity, Adam oversees the strategic implementation of digital tools to enhance teaching and learning across the district.
Adam earned his PhD from Boston College, specializing in curriculum, instruction, and technology. His doctoral research and professional focus center on the intersection of one-to-one technology initiatives and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). He is particularly interested in how systemic educational change can be managed to create more inclusive, flexible learning environments that meet the needs of all students.
Before transitioning into district leadership, Adam spent a decade in the classroom as a high school social studies teacher. This foundational experience as a practitioner informs his current work, ensuring that technology integration remains student-centered and pedagogically sound rather than just a technical exercise.
Beyond his work in K-12 education, Adam is deeply committed to public service and local governance. He recently completed 8 years as an elected member of the Framingham City Council, and he continues to advocate for his community and works on policy initiatives to improve local infrastructure and services. Adam is also an active supporter of the Special Olympics and can be seen every winter participating in the "Polar Plunge." Adam resides in Framingham with his wife and two daughters, balancing his passion for educational innovation with his dedication to family and civic duty.
