Kris Beck is the Director of Computer Science at Chicago Public Schools. Her team supports all aspects of computer science education from PK - 12th grade, curriculum, professional learning for teachers, in and out-of-school programming, research, university and corporate partner relations. Kris worked in industry and changed careers to education in 2010 in CPS as a math and science middle school teacher. Working with researchers at MIT she combined her career in industry to teaching computer science at the elementary and university level before becoming the director for CPS.
