Bill Stein is a seasoned K-12 technology leader with over 30 years of experience. As Director of Information Systems at MSD of Mt. Vernon, he built a high-performing IT team around the mission: “Support the classroom teacher.” Known for his service-driven leadership, Bill connects deeply with educators and fosters a culture of trust and innovation.
A Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) through CoSN, he’s a frequent presenter at ISTE, CoSN, and HECC. He’s also the creator of CyberShorts.org, where he turns real cyber incidents into engaging stories that make training memorable and impactful.
Bill is a former Chair of the Indiana CTO Council and mentors future tech leaders through the CTO2B Mentorship Program. He leads gamified awareness efforts that boost cybersecurity engagement across his district.
A passionate advocate for inclusive, supportive school communities, Bill promotes equity and helps staff see cybersecurity as a shared, empowering responsibility.
