Dr. Phoebe Balentyne serves as the Director of Instructional Technology for Sycamore CUSD 427, where she champions the belief that true innovation is inseparable from educational equity. With a career spanning over 16 years—including twelve years as a high school mathematics teacher and several as an instructional technology coach—Phoebe approaches technology leadership as a tool for dismantling barriers to access.

A seasoned speaker at national and regional conferences—including IDEAcon, IETC, AECT, and SITE—Phoebe’s presentations frequently explore the intersection of leadership, collaboration, and inclusive digital environments. She is dedicated to empowering instructional leaders to move beyond "tool-first" mentalities, instead fostering tech strategies rooted in relational trust and cultural responsiveness. For Phoebe, the goal isn't just to implement new tools, but to ensure those tools empower every learner to succeed. This includes recoganizing and dismantling implicit bias.
