The FCC's Cybersecurity Pilot Program was a critical first step. But with $3.7 billion in demand against a $200 million budget, the gap between what schools need and what exists is enormous, and well-documented. Funds For Learning has assembled the most complete data picture yet: eight years of E-rate applicant surveys, 660 verbatim comments from school and library staff, line-item analysis of the Cybersecurity Pilot Program, and six years of E-rate firewall funding records. The findings are consistent, urgent, and clear. This session presents that data — and makes the case for what has to come next. Participants will understand the true scale of unmet cybersecurity funding need, what schools are actually asking for, and how to use this evidence to advocate effectively for permanent, meaningful E-rate cybersecurity support.
